About us

Hi - welcome to the C.Q. Military and Artefacts Museum.

We're non-profit regional museum with a small band of enthusiastic volunteers and a network of community support that enables us to collect, conserve and display the abundant military history of the Central Queensland area.

Our Mission

Our mission is to collect, conserve and display the local military history and provide a venue for research and artefact identification for the community.

Our Activities

  • We provide guided tours tailored to the requirements of schools and tour groups.
  • We visit local schools and open days with our Outreach Trailer, often dressed in uniform.
  • We provide a loan service to institutions around ANZAC Day to enable them to set up their own displays.
  • We perform educational talks by request.
  • We provide artefacts and displays for special events in the local area.
  • We provide a venue for ex-service people and the general public on ANZAC Day and other commemorative occasions.

How You can Help

Volunteers are always needed for our normal activities. Such roles include: guides, conservation workers, fundraisers, cleaners, modelers, vehicle restorers, and historians.

Finance is always a problem, so support from local businesess and tax-deductable donations are appreciated. The bulk of our income comes from regular "sausage sizzles" and the like. Additional volunteers for fund-raising activities would be welcome.

Nearly our entire collection has been built from items donated by the community. If you have any items you would like to contribute to this community endeavour, or you would simply like to learn more about what we do, please contact us.
